When the heat strikes, nothing sounds better than an escape to a mountain town to beat the heat. As you head to higher elevations in late summer and early fall, it can be tricky to know what to pack to keep you feeling cool and cute! I recently headed to Denver and brought along the perfect outfits that made my getaway a breeze. Keep reading for my tips on what you should bring on your trip!
I enjoy being as comfortable as possible on the airplane, but still want to feel put together. So, I threw on the Vichka Jumpsuit and the Lustre Earrings for my flight from L.A. to Denver. The billowy legs make this jumpsuit look almost like a dress, but it’s as comfortable as pajamas!
A carry-on bag makes for effortless travel if you’re only going for a weekend. This means you’ll want to pack versatile clothes that can pull double-duty and work for all sorts of activities. For example, the Sylvie Relaxed Tee with a pair of black jeans can be dressed up for dinner with a variety of jewelry or with sandals as you hop on a scooter and go on an afternoon adventure. To keep your carry-on in order, make sure you have a handy toiletries bag, like the gorgeous and practical Edna Dopp Kit!
Because “less is more” is my travel philosophy, I tend to pack basics and then bring lots of jewelry options so outfits can be jazzed up with different vibes. After landing, I decided to skip eating at a restaurant and opted for a fun food truck bar instead. I skipped lugging around a big bag and instead slipped the Leather Card Carrier into my pocket. I still wanted to feel a little dressed up, so I layered on the Dana Bracelet and the Paper Clip Bracelet, Encanto Necklace, and Oasis Studs.
Because the change in elevation can wreak havoc on my skin, I planned a relaxing spa day for myself! I threw on the Claire Tank Top and Billie Trousers for an effortlessly comfortable ensemble. I always love to add jewelry to complete a look with minimal effort, so I slipped on the Stella Hoops and Bobble Chain Necklace for a simple statement to show off my glowing spa day skin.
When I was ready to head to the pool for a quick dip, the Billie Trousers were perfect over my swimsuit! I usually throw on a dress over my swimsuit, but these silky soft and breezy pants made me feel like I was wearing a complete outfit, while still lounging.
That evening, I ventured out to see some live music. I decided to glam up the Claire Tank Top, pairing it with a skirt, the Coin Studs, and Oasis Necklace because the little ruffle sleeves are perfect for feeling a little “extra” in a subtle way.
I highly recommend having one “fancy” option for a night out on the town when you travel, so look no further than the Ruffle Maxi Dress! The midi-length makes the dress, and it’s still lightweight with the thing we all love…pockets! Elevate the ensemble with the Eva Clutch, as well as the Chara Earrings and Combo Chain Necklace.
Continuing with the “comfy-yet-chic-and-versatile” theme for my weekend getaway, I popped on the Inez Bubble Sleeve Dress. I paired this with sandals and Stella Hoops as I went to a gorgeous mountain view lookout for sunset and then threw on the sherpa-lined Lauryn Jacket when the temps dropped in the evening. This jacket also kept me cozy on the plane ride home, and I love it for this exact reason - it looks like a classic denim jacket, but keeps you extra warm!
